Study finds fewer people reading books, library sees no change
Americans spent 2.6 hours watching TV and 22 minutes reading in their daily leisure time, according to a 2006 American Time Use Survey from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Teens and young adults spent even less time — just seven minutes — reading while they spent almost two hours a day watching TV.
